“ One of the only two Hungarian restaurants in the entire West Coast The other one is in Oregon. The gate should have a custom checkpoint because once you step in, you are in Hungary. We visited on a Saturday relaxing afternoon, And although it looks like a takeout place, they have fullservice from assigned seats to drink orders unfortunately they did not have Hungarian beer but they do have Hungarian wine. The Hungarian coleslaw has a sour taste and its tasty because it opens your appetite. The goulash is a signature dish as if you are having the exact same soup in New York cafe, Budapest Hungary. Lacho with sausage is so delicious. I regret I did not take a second order as a togo. Cabbage roll has rice inside and not too salty nor too light. Of all the dishes, the dessert is a must. Pancake brings you to a perfect finish of the meal. And above all, all dishes were made by the store owner, who is a Hungarian herself, and dishes were made from householdsize pans and woks, not industrial quantitydriven. As the background of the restaurant stated meals and memories are definitely made there. I have never been to Hungary but by visiting the restaurant and watching YouTube travel videos, I feel my passport has a Hungarian customs stamp. Bought a Hungarian wine as a gift, will taste that later. ”
“ This is the best place ever, homemade food made with love by a very wholesome lady. Our server was very nice and explained what was in all of our food and super helpful with dietary restrictions, making sure we had a great experience. I definitely recommend this place if you love home cooked cental european food ”
“ Why doesnt this restaurant have a line out the door? First time visiting and I could literally slap myself for not going sooner. INCREDIBLE flavors and super friendly service. We dined in, but take out is also available. Additionally, homemade desserts and other Hungarian Central European sweetssnackscondimentswines and beer are readily available to purchase in display cases. Go check it out when youre ready to experience food from the hands of a kitchen goddess. Kind of serious! ”
“ updates We love the food here! Definitely worth the 3rd t and try it out! Would come back again! ! Previously If the goal for a restaurant is to not let customer still be hungry when they leave, Budapest bistro certainly failed. We have visited here for 2 times. First time it says open online, but actually closed Second time we called to make sure it is open. However, when we got there at 7pm, the waitress without wearing mask already said they dont have any food left. Thats the first time I heard a restaurant doesnt have food. Would I try again? Yes definitely. Cus I want to see how many times it takes to get me finally able to eat anything here. Never give up. Depends on how the food tastes, I might change the rating. To be continued... ”
“ The food is simple, well made, and high quality. The place is small and well attended and the staff are sweet. Nice decorations and a warm, pleasant atmosphere. It feels like eating at a relatives home where the food is cozy and the cook is happy youre there. We cant get enough! ”
“ Oh my gosh. This place is amazing!!! I had the tomato soup starter, the chicken paprikash, and a mystery dessert of the owners creation. While it is delistyle, the food is made in house with no preservatives. The entire experience brought us back to our trip to Budapest. We will be returning! Absolutely worth the drive from Seattle! ”
“ My wife and I stumbled upon this place as we were making our way to the Whidbey Island ferry. Not only did it blow our expectations out of the water, but it was so good that it became a highlight of our entire trip to the Pacific Northwest. In all the best ways, it felt like we were being served a delicious homecooked dinner by our grandparents. Cozy, delicious, reasonably priced, and huge portions. Plus, they are wheelchair accessible with plenty of space for me to maneuver! LOVE. ”
“ I just love this place. Homemade food, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The owner makes a different menu every day, and I tell you go in and eat there!! It is soooooo cozy and cute and comfy and looks like grandmas home during Christmas!!! The happiness eating at this place is real... I am Latina and I felt like I was home, while I was eating an European food, because her food bring every flavor and memories, no matter where you are from... you should try it, if you like comfort food. ”
